YDF 760K - 1972 Manta A 2.5 litre V6 Modified

Owner: Chris Collier

I bought this particular car about 4 yrs ago. The car was originally an SR when I bought it and was a runner at the time, but it needed a fair amount of work done on it, I stripped it back to a bear shell and had it resprayed. The colour is Nissan citrene, which is a greeny gold depending on what light you catch it in.

The engine is a 2.5 Vectra V6 and was only on the road two days before Billing! As far as I am aware, this is the only Manta in this country with a V6 fitted. The cost of this so far has been in the region of £4500 to £5,000 if I'd known it was going to cost that much when I started I wouldn't of done it.

I have fully re-upholsted the interior in leather, seats, door panels, dash etc. Overall, I must have spent £15000 over a 16-yr. period, on all the different modifications such as the uprated brakes & lowered suspension, and the 5-speed gearbox conversion.

The only bad news is the cambelt tensioner bolt has just vibrated loose which has allowed the belt to jump two teeth causing the valves to hit the pistons and bent them. I knew I was going to have teething problems with the engine. I didn't realise it going to be this bad!
