The bad section of the floor was cut out and the jacking point exposed, the jacking point had been replaced a few years ago but no protection or paint was put inside so it rotted the floor and the jacking point itself had a right bit of surface rust, theis was sanded as far as possible and then coated with jenolite. Once the jenolite was dry it was painted with rust encapsulizer. The floor of the car is now ready to be sanded and then it will be painted with weld through primer before the plate is welded in.
The bottom of the A post was bad and it all had to be rebuilt and the floor around the jacking point, I took hrs to do getting the shape and I couldnt run a good seam of wed in one go as it kept wanting to blow through so it had to be a series of tacks to get the seams done, Just needs ground down now and finished of a bit tidier. The gap at the jacking point was also closed into stop dirt and water getting inside it.
The bulkhead had quite a few pinholes in this area, A section was cut out and a new plate seam welded in this now needs dressed and smoothed out after the sandblasting.
The right angle strip has been cut away leaving a large hole to be repaired in the bulkhead, this will be done from inside and then a new plate formed on the outside after the rust has been ground away.
A Plate was cut and formed inside the car at the bulkhead then seam welded into place, then the plate was again welded on the outside above and below where the inner wing joins. A new strip was then run down the inner wing on the engine bay side and seam welded. needs dressed down later and tidied up.
The right angle strip was then reformed and welded underneath the inner wing. This was done in 3 strips as there is quite a large curve in the inner wing.
There was a hole in the drivers side boot just above the box section underneath, this exposed the rot in the box section, The box section will be cleaned out and done with jenolite to get rid of the rusting and then plated, after that the boot floor can be repaired.
The spare tyre well was rightly pinholed so it was cut out to gain access to the box section underneath, as you can see the inner face is rotted away, this will be cut out and replaced then a new spare tyre well installed.
